Conkai Security Joins New Trade Association
Conkai Security Ltd announced that with effect from Monday 1st September 2014, it had formally become a member of the Independent Parking Committee (IPC) which is an officially recognised Approved Trade Association by the DVLA for the private parking industry.
In joining the Independent Parking Committee, Conkai adheres to the IPC's Accredited Operator Scheme and complies in full with the IPC's Code of Practice. The move to join the IPC means that Conkai Security will still remain a member of the British Parking Association (BPA) but will effective from this date no longer be a member of the BPA Approved Operator Scheme.
With respect to Parking Enforcement activities carried out by Conkai Security, any enforcement through the use of Parking Charge Notices (PCN) issued prior to this date will still be dealt with in accordance with the BPA's code of practice, in which case motorists will have the right to appeal to the Parking On Private Land Appeals (POPLA) service.
For PCN's which are issued with effect from the 1st September 2014 these will follow the IPC's Code of Practice and motorists will be have the right to appeal to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS) which is the independent adjudication service provided for motorists who have been issued a PCN by an IPC member. Details of the appeals service and how to appeal are referenced on the reverse of the Parking Charge Notice or included on an information card that accompanies the PCN.
